These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Lexog iOS application and website (collectively, the “Service”) provided by Lexog (“we”, “our”, or “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Lexog.

1. Using Lexog

Lexog is a personal vocabulary tool. You may use it to save words, phrases, and idioms; add definitions and examples; organize your vocabulary into categories; and review your saved words using spaced repetition.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.

2. Your Content

You own the words, definitions, texts, and other content you save in Lexog. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to store and process that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

You are responsible for the content you save. Do not use Lexog to store or share content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on the rights of others.

3. AI Features

Lexog offers optional AI-powered features, including definition suggestions (via Google Gemini) and Claude Desktop integration (via Anthropic's MCP protocol). These features are provided as-is. AI-generated content may be inaccurate — always verify definitions before relying on them.

When you use AI features, relevant portions of your content (such as the word you are looking up) are sent to the respective third-party AI provider. See our Privacy Policy for details.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, copy, or resell any part of the Service.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' accounts.
• Use automated tools to scrape or overload the Service.
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

5. Intellectual Property

The Lexog name, logo, app design, and codebase are our intellectual property. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership rights to you beyond the limited right to use the Service as described here.

6. Service Availability

We aim to keep Lexog available and working well, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, limit, or discontinue features at any time. We will do our best to give reasonable notice for significant changes.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that AI-generated content is accurate or complete.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lexog and its owners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

You may stop using Lexog and delete your account at any time by contacting us at hello@lexog.app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, with or without prior notice.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Continued use of Lexog after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
