Common questions

How do I add a new word?

Tap the + button in the top-right corner of the Words screen. Enter the word or phrase, select a category, add a definition and an optional example sentence, then tap Save.

How do I start a review session?

Go to the Review tab, select a category (or leave it on Any), and tap Start Review. Swipe left for the next card, swipe right to go back. Rate each word with Again, Hard, or Got it.

What does the spaced repetition system do?

Lexog schedules each word for review based on how well you know it. Words rated Again come back sooner; words rated Got it are shown less often as your confidence builds.

How do I save a text and highlight words from it?

Go to the Texts tab and tap + to add a text. Once saved, open it and select any word or phrase — a prompt will appear to add it directly to your vocabulary list.

How does the AI definition suggestion work?

When adding a word, tap the sparkle (✦) button. Lexog sends the word to our AI provider and returns one or more definitions with example sentences for you to choose from. An internet connection is required.

What is Claude integration and how do I set it up?

Claude integration lets you connect your Lexog vocabulary to Claude Desktop via an API key. In Settings, tap Generate API Key, copy the key, and paste it into your Claude Desktop MCP configuration. Once connected, Claude can quiz you, explain words, and generate examples using your saved vocabulary.

How do I delete a word?

Open the word's detail view by tapping on it in the Words list, then tap Edit. A delete option is available at the bottom of the edit screen.

Can I change the review reminder time?

Yes. Go to Settings and toggle Daily Reminder on. The reminder is sent at a fixed time each day. If you need to change the time, contact us at hello@lexog.app and we'll note it as a feature request.

The app shows 'Unexpected response from server'. What should I do?

This usually means a temporary connection issue with our server. Check your internet connection and try again. If the problem persists for more than a few minutes, email us at hello@lexog.app with a brief description.

How do I delete my account and data?

Email us at hello@lexog.app with the subject line 'Delete my account'. We'll permanently delete your account and all associated data within 30 days.
